MBC’s upcoming drama “The Item” has unveiled an exciting new teaser!
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “The Item” is a fantasy drama about a man and a woman that set out to uncover the secrets behind several mysterious objects with supernatural powers. The drama will star Joo Ji Hoon as Kang Gon, a hot-headed prosecutor who becomes entangled in the mystery while attempting to save his beloved niece, and Jin Se Yeon as Shin So Young, a talented criminal profiler who remains perfectly composed even when faced with the most horrific or crime scenes.
The newly released teaser begins with footage of a dark, eerie crime scene, as Kang Gon recalls, “Ominous things began to happen.” Shin So Young looks worried as she similarly comments, “Unbelievable, inexplicable things are happening.”
Kang Gon muses, “If the murder took place using an object that had special powers…” before trailing off. The caption finishes his sentence by dramatically declaring, “[We] need to have it.” The preview then shows Kang Gon using the supernatural power of one such object in order to stop an approaching train, as the caption teases, “If you could turn back time…”
The teaser also introduces villain Jo Se Hwang (played by Kim Kang Woo), who wears a sinister smile as he remarks, “It’s an ordinary object, but we can kill people with it.”
The preview ends with glimpses of an action-packed fight scene as Kang Gon shouts, “Come out right this instant!”
The producers of “The Item” commented, “The new preview clip features Kang Gon and Shin So Young starting to become aware of the existence of ‘the items.’ To find out whether they will be able to stop the evil desires of those who possess the items, including Jo Se Hwang, who already possesses one of the items and knows how to use its powers, and whether they will be able to uncover the hidden truth behind the items, please tune in to the first episode on February 11.”
They added, “We ask that you show a lot of interest and anticipation [for the drama].”
“The Item” will premiere on February 11 at 10 p.m. KST, following the conclusion of MBC’s “Less than Evil.” The drama will also be available with English subtitles on Dramacool.
